Want to make your messages on Google Meet slightly quirky or funny, why not add an emoji to spice things up! Emojis are the perfect way to grab attention to pressing messages, which individuals might overlook otherwise. You may have noticed that the Google Meet chat feature does not have an emoji button visible to you, however, you can still send emojis on Google Meet.
Simply join the meeting that you would like to become a part of.
Once you have joined the Google Meet session, make your way over to the bottom right side of your screen and locate the speech bubble icon and click that.
After clicking on the speech bubble icon, a messaging window will open on the right side of your screen.
From there go over to the messaging text box and right-click on your computer device for an additional options menu. No matter which device you are using, the first option in the additional menu will be that of emoticons and symbols.
Click the emoji and symbols option and a popup of all the emojis available on your device will appear on the screen, as shown in the image below.

Moreover, individuals can also misuse the cat feature on Google Meet to send hostile or inappropriate messages during a professional work session. Therefore, hosts have the option of disabling messages on Google Meet as well.
So, if you are wondering how to turn off chat in Google Meet sessions, the answer to that is quite simple. Check it out below!
First, join a Google Meet session that you are hosting. Remember, to make use of this feature you must be a host of the meeting.
After joining the session, make your way to the host settings of the meeting. To get to the host settings, click the “Meeting safety” button located on the bottom right-hand side of your screen.
A popup will appear on the right-hand side of your screen with options and settings. From these settings click on the “send chat messages” button to disable the chat feature.
Part 8: How to Retrieve Google Meet Chat History?
Unlike Google Hangouts, individuals cannot retrieve chats on Google Meet. Once the call has ended the chat is automatically deleted. Unless the video meeting is recorded with a Google Workspace account, the chat in Google Meet is archived.
